Built well, your roof should last you for years. But the impact of the hot and cold temperatures, pollution, and natural wear and tear, can degrade the look and the quality of your roof materials.
- With tiled roofs, you’ll often notice a discolouration. There might also be obvious damage where tiles have become more porous over time and have started to leak or crack. In this case, unless your roof is repaired and restored you may find the integrity of the building is damaged.
- A roof in need of restoration may also compromise your insulation, affecting your ability to keep your home cool in summer and warm in winter (which also impacts your power bills, and not in a good way!).
- Not to mention the problems caused by damp settling into your roof causing mould and infiltrating the building’s supportive materials.
Restoring your roof to top condition involves giving it a thorough clean, making all necessary repairs, and applying a quality roof sealant and membrane coating (usually two coats).
- To ensure the cleaning process is as thorough as possible, we use a high-pressure cleaning equipment. This removes all traces of dirt, pollution, algae, and mould.
- After cleaning your roof, we’ll install a protective cover to ensure your property is safe from the elements.
- To ensure safety onsite, we always use proper safety harnessing and well-installed scaffolding.
The cost of restoring your roof depends on several factors including:
- how much repair work needs to be done
- the type of materials you choose and the cost of those materials
- the size and pitch of your roof, and
- the ease of access.
It will also take us a bit more time to clean, repair and repaint the roof if you have solar panels installed, so that’s another factor.
Cost estimates can vary between roofing contractors, and the cheapest price is usually not the one to go with as you often get what you pay for.
